Welcome back to another exciting school year, one which happens to be the final year at Buckeye Elementary!  I am thrilled to welcome our kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students through our doors once again. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where your children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of the Salem City School District, we are proud to be part of a community that values education and supports our youngest learners as they build the foundational skills they need for future success.

I am especially excited to share some wonderful news about our attendance efforts from last year. Thanks to the partnership between our families, staff, and students, we made tremendous progress in reducing chronic absenteeism—dropping from 24.9% to an impressive 10.9%! This significant improvement shows what we can accomplish when we work together to ensure every child is in school, ready to learn, each and every day. Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success, and your commitment to getting your children to school has made all the difference. Let’s continue this positive momentum this year and keep building on this achievement.

This year, we are committed to continuing our tradition of excellence while fostering strong partnerships between home and school. Our team of 30 teachers and support staff are ready to provide individualized attention and care to each of your children. Our PTO is already planning many great events for students this year, and we encourage all families to get involved—please call the office or like them on Facebook to join! We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are here to support you and your family every step of the way.
