Good Afternoon Quaker Community

After working collaboratively with the Salem Health Department this weekend on contact tracing, and a third staff member testing positive for the Coronavirus, students in grades 7-12 will be remote learning from home, starting tomorrow Monday, November 2nd.  It is our intention to return to face to face instruction on Monday, November 9th.  Parent teacher conferences will still take place Thursday, November 5th from 3:00-9:00 pm via phone call or zoom. Students in grades K-12 will not have classes on Friday, November 6th as was previously scheduled.

Students should follow the same Remote Learning Schedule they used on Friday, checking their google classrooms for assignments and/or links to live lessons.

FREE breakfast and lunch will continue to be available via curbside pickup between 11:30 – 1:00.

Activities for students in grades 7-12 will continue as scheduled. Students should continue to be closely monitored at home for symptoms of coronavirus and should NOT attend any activities if they are exhibiting any symptoms listed on the CDC coronavirus symptoms website.

Students in grades K-6 will attend school as normal, Monday – Thursday. Please continue to monitor your children and do not send them to school if they are exhibiting any symptoms of coronavirus. Students should have a clean mask each day, wash their hands regularly, and keep distance from others.

Again, we are doing this out of an abundance of caution. We have had no students in the 7-12 building test positive for coronavirus. We have three staff members positive that has resulted in many other staff and students being quarantined at home for the duration of their health department order.

Sincerely,

Sean Kirkland
