There’s always something special going on at Southeast Elementary, and the “Fashion For Free” event was another great example of everyone helping out one another. The event was set up by the sixth-grade student council with the help of principal Lisa DeRose and was a huge success for those that attended.
Clothes donated to the school were organized on the tables in the cafeteria and students from the fifth and sixth grade participated by “shopping”. Staff members at the Southeast Elementary maintain a closet of clothes for those that might have a need for them and, when overwhelmed by donations, the student council sets up the “Fashion For Free” extravaganza. Coats, shirts, shorts, and jeans were available as students moved from one table to the next.
Making a difference in the community is something every student, teacher, and administrator at Salem City Schools attempts to do. Salem City Schools would like to thank the sixth-grade student council for setting up another great event at Southeast Elementary.
