Over the weekend, Salem’s football team competed in the Columbiana Power Meet at the Columbiana High School. The Power Meet is a weight lifting competition which pits schools and students against one another to see who can lift the most weight. The team itself lifted a school record 13,380lbs and had numerous first-place finishers amongst the individual weight classes. Those that finished in first were: Jake Maenz in the 135 lbs weight class, Turner Johnson in the 155 lbs weight class, Jake Narvet in the 225 lbs weight class, and Jake Graffius in the 250 lbs weight class. Griffin Panezott finished in first in the Junior High Heavy weight class. Jake Maenz also set meet records for his weight class in the deadlift, squat and total weight lifted. Congratulations to all who participated in this school record setting competition.
